I enjoyed reading this after being a fan of the series. I suppose it was to my detriment that I read this after the series because I couldn’t help but compare the two. I think I prefer the way that the show executed the storyline, however I found the backstory in this one quite compelling. At some points it did feel like regency era fanfiction, but I knew that going into the book so I didn’t necessarily mind that. If you’d like a bit of fluff and feel good romance this would be a good book.
