Windswept & Interesting: My Autobiography by Billy Connolly

adventurous dark emotional funny informative inspiring lighthearted fast-paced

4.0

I have very fond memories of watching The Big Yin when I was younger, listening to both my mum and dad laughing to the point of choking.  His observational humour is some of the very best.

His world tour TV series are also excellent.

This book is a candid account of Connolly's life, from his childhood in Glasgow to his rise to fame as a comedian. It covers his early years as an apprentice welder in the shipyards of the River Clyde, his time as a folk musician, and his eventual transition to comedy. The book also delves into Connolly's personal life, including his struggles with addiction and his diagnosis with Parkinson's disease.

The book has also been praised for its accessibility, with many readers noting that it is easy to read and engaging throughout.

Windswept and Interesting is a must-read for fans of Billy Connolly and anyone interested in the life of one of Scotland's most beloved comedians. The book is a testament to Connolly's talent as a storyteller and his ability to find humor in even the darkest of situations
