4.5: This book was a joy to read. An empowering trans coming of age story, a heartfelt queer romance, and a supernatural thriller all in one, with a ton of cultural nuggets about Día de los Muertos mixed in. The climax was slightly confusing and didn’t entirely make sense, but in the end, it didn’t really matter because the bond between the characters was so beautiful.
