I like that this book gives kids the opportunity to explore some important issues and difficult realities, especially the difficulties of dealing with traumatic brain injury not just on the patient, but also on everyone around them. However, I was hoping for more. I felt like the book kind of just skimmed the surface of what Ben and his family were going through and there was not enough depth in any of the characters or their situations to allow me to really invest in them or ultimately care about them. Even though I understood what a sad situation they were dealing with, none of them pulled at my heartstrings, not even Ben. To me, that makes what could have been a great book just an okay one instead. Sad...
