I have never felt more tempted to dnf a book. I kept waiting for this to pick up, but it never did for me. The plot was written a bit clumsily. There were a lot of characters in this story with the perspective changing each chapter which contributed to my inability to get into the story. In general, I don't like more than 2 perspectives in a story especially when its not clearly labelled and I have to figure out what's going on. With this book in particular, when I would get into one character's story the perspective immediately jumped to something else I didn't care about and the resolution for whatever was usually not worth the wait.

This story attempted a lot and had a really interesting summary, but ultimately fell flat.
