The Battle of Jedha by George Mann

2.0

Even for a Star Wars audio, this was fairly lackluster. It starts off pretty slow, but does pick up. The actions scenes during the big battle, which remind Phase One readers of Vallo, are pretty well done; but not intense enough for me. I like the smaller casting of Phase 2; but haven't found the stories or characters engaging or interesting enough to invest in.

Once again all the inclusivity buzz words/phrases are present. It's annoying....takes you out of the story and puts you here on earth in the United States, not in a "Galaxy, far, far away". Also I had a HUGE problem with language used. Not only was there unnecessary profanity; but modern day slang was used. Examples: Smartass--(seriously?!); several damns & was completely turned off by the use of the F-Bomb.

C'mon Disney---enough!!! That isn't Star Wars. It is out of place, feels awkward & does nothing for the characters or the plot.

I'd say skip this; but I'm afraid it plays too big a part on the next wave of this Phase & the overall story.
