I really enjoyed this murder mystery a lot! Even though the protagonist was a suspect and not a detective, because of the unique ways in which she was invested in the murder and pursued the investigation, it felt a lot like a classic detective fiction. Plus, I loved the consulting detective so much, and despite the myriad flaws among the group of friends, I really didn’t hate any of them (except the murdered one, as to be expected haha).

I thought I would hate the flashbacks, taking us away from the main storyline and seeing so much high school drama, but with the way that they varied in POV and were so short, it didn’t hurt the momentum of the mystery at all.

The dramatics of the ending felt a little contrived for me, but it wasn’t terrible.
