I enjoyed the premise of the plot, and the mysterious turns behind it all. A nice balance between adventure, steam punk, and mystery, for sure.
Unfortunately, I barely felt anything for the characters. I had trouble connecting with them, so I didn't care that much about their fates. In fact, I was 75% in when it became interesting to me.
The last bits of the book changed pace so fast it caused me whiplash, but I was relieved that happened because I was nearly about to quit.
Overall, I did like the ending, and I was happy there were no stones unturned.
