This is not a book you read for the plot. This is not a book you read for the characters. This is a book you read almost exclusively for the spice. This book should be rated on the Scoville scale.

That being said, there is a plot. But it’s relatively standard enemy to lovers in a forced proximity setting with almost no external conflict. It’s predictable but that makes it very comfortable to read.
The characters aren’t two-dimensional but they are also very close to standard archetypes. They (not just the main characters) are lovable and make sense. You know who they are from the get go. Again, there lies a certain comfort in that.

It’s a delightfully entertaining and fast-paced read that goes from scene to scene. Literally. The author clearly knows her kink and that makes reading so much more enjoyable in all the little details that are often missing in books by authors that veer into BDSM based on personal fantasies alone.

This book is part of a series but can be read as a standalone without problem.
