Memoirs of an Imaginary Friend by Matthew Dicks

3.0

This was such a frustrating book. The premise and characters had such a wonderful opportunity to create an amazing book. With complex, likable characters and interactions with an interesting (albeit ridiculous) story arc, the right author could have created a truly enjoyable, substantial, and fulfilling book. Unfortunately, cliche after cliche after unbelievable plot turn after unsubstantiated character behavior lead to an entertaining but discouragingly empty and underwhelming novel. It could have and should have been SOO much better than it was. Still good enough for 3 stars, but just barely.
