I’m so surprised to be giving Neon Gods such a low rating but here we are. The plot lacked depth, the characters felt flat, and (for me) the spicy scenes didn’t feel as hot as I’d been promised. My large problem with the setting was not understanding what type of world we were in and it left a lot of questions: was there magic and how far did it extend, how did the River work, what did these people do for a living? 
Ultimately, I wanted to like this but it just wasn’t for me!
