Lady Mechanika #5 by Joe Benítez, Peter Steiferwald

5.0

I'm a little sad to have come to the end of this story arc by reading this issue because I was falling deeper and deeper in love with the world and the characters. I think that this storyline was handled well and although I still have many, many questions (as does Lady Mechanika) I am very excited to follow her and the other character into new territory with the second story arc: Tablet of Destinies.

The conclusion of this story felt very action-packed and intense with lots of explosions and moments of intense art design. I think that the way Benitez draws lends itself to fight scenes and drama well because he doesn't confine himself too much to the boxes and scenes, he likes to push the boarders and make it far more visually stimulating to look at.

On the whole this is definitely a series I REALLY HOPE continues for a fair while because it's so engaging and wonderful every time I read it and I tried to drag out the first arc for a long time because straight from issue #0 I knew this was going to be a series I would thoroughly adore. I am sad that this one is over, but happy that there's 5 more arcs for me to pic up... I hope it continues after the next five and I would strongly recommend this to anyone who loves steampunk, adventure and feisty characters!
