The Dead Husband by Carter Wilson

4.0

I love Carter Wilson’s books, the twists and turns always shock me!
Rose has recently lost her husband Riley to suicide, she’s now a widow and a single parent to their son Max, so she packs up what’s left of her life in Whitefish Wisconsin and heads back to her hometown Bury New Hampshire. Rose is broke and struggling to write her latest mystery book, the only option is moving in with her wealthy father Logan Yates. She’s not looking forward to walking through the doors , she had left behind her father and sister after a tragedy twenty years ago and hadn’t returned since., she still suffers nightmares every night and the guilt has a hold on her. Seeing her sister and father brings back the rush of memories of the awful thing they did. Unbeknownst to Rose a detective from Milwaukee starts to see a shocking resemblance to what happened in her book to how her husband died, he doesn’t believe it’s a suicide and he’s determined to uncover the truth, when he begins to dig he soon uncovers even darker secrets. Will Rose be able to keep her life from crumbling around her? Four stars! Wow this book scared me especially the flashbacks into the past.
