Lord Valentine's Castle by Robert Silverberg

2.0

The beginning of the book was intriguing --- the main character mysterious, the writing good, and the metaphor of juggling creative. The method of keeping order in the world was also unique. Unfortunately most of the book is predictable, and the author shows no real interest in how politics works or in military strategy. This makes the second half of the book feel shallow.
