Book 1 was prettymeh, but I figured I'd give the series one more shot before giving up. I liked this one less, though.

The plot is okay, I guess? It's really the characters that tanked the experience for me. I'd say they act like high schoolers, but honestly, most high schoolers I've known are way more emotionally intelligent than these people.

Also, the main character makes a big deal of this secret society being sexist, and the men from said society ARE cartoonishly misogynistic. They really have to be that over-the-top, though, to avoid making the actions of the "good guys" (and the thoughts of the narrator) look massively hypocritical. I mean, it still *is* hypocritical, but I guess the hilariously outdated statements from the society guys sort of work to make it less noticeable.
