i have spent the majority of my life hating myself. i often thought i had gaslight myself into believing that society was not to blame and i just simply did not fit in. this book has helped me see that there is a whole NEW part of my identity that has been neglected and unseen being raised by my white family in predominantly white towns in small town Texas.
