Henry and the Hidden Treasure by B. C. R. Fegan

4.0

As a child, what do you do with pocket money when you have a little sister?

Well, if you're Henry you hide it and booby trap the path to the treasure!

The story is told through the eyes of a little boy, Henry, who rather than bank his money as his parents suggest, he decides to hide his newly acquired treasure from his sneaky little sister, Lucy. The illustrations boast of his imagination which brings a new life to the simplicity of the writing style, which was easily read by my six year old.

My children loved this story, they devoured it visually when I held up the book for them, so thumbs up to Lenny Wen for these silly and vivid illustrations.

Of course, the ending of the book was great, too. It showed that there are some treasures greater than money. Overall this was a pleasant read and one I'd recommend for a beginner reader, as well as a night time read.
