How to See by Thích Nhất Hạnh

5.0

After trying to start this on a different day, I found myself able to sink into this on a quiet Sunday morning. It demands the right mood for you to be able to read and truly listen to it resonate. Learned that there is a full series and I'll be ordering this and giving each mindfulness part of the collection a read. Below are highlights:

"Impermanence means transformation at every moment."

"We need to continue expanding the boundaries of our understanding or we will be imprisoned by our views."

"With mindfulness we can enjoy the present moment, the only moment of life available to us."

"Your parents and ancestors weren’t able to transform all their shortcomings, so they have passed their difficulties on to you. Now you have a chance to transform them so that you will not transmit them to your children."

p. 58 making peace

"Terrorism cannot be destroyed by guns or bombs, for it lies in the hearts of human beings."

"Waking up this morning, I smile
Twenty-four brand new hours are before me
I vow to live fully in each moment
and to look at all beings with the eyes of compassion."
