I really enjoyed the dark, immersive setting of this book. It was quite slow-paced, but the interesting characters and beautiful writing made up for that. There are so many amazing quotes in this book - I’m not usually tempted to go back, re-read and annotate books, but it would be very fulfilling to do so with this one. I would be very interested in reading other books from Ava Reid. I also loved Effy and Preston’s relationship.
