My first ever Stephen King novel and wow. Creepy, chilling, downright gross, but also so good. I was absolutely gripped. I think the element of investigation balanced out the horror nicely and made it more palatable for a new-to-horror reader like myself. And, oddly enough, it reminded me a lot of a short story I wrote in English class in high school. Now that I’ve dipped my toe into the Stephen King universe, I may need to dive into his backlog. Stay tuned 👀
