Series: Diner Days #1
Cover: 4/5
Ebook: 205 Pages
Story: 5/5

OmGlob please Kat can you make Myles’s books come true? I want to read all that alien goodness. The little we know about the book left me intrigued, I can’t stop wondering what happens in those stories with all the research Myles is doing πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€.
I really want that book, I love (queer) alien romances!

Okay now about the good stuff that it’s Written At Randy’s.
This book wow!
If you’ve ever dreamed of a perfect queer book with everything, I'm mean everything β€” this is the one. And get ready because there's a whole series of them, with 10 more to go. YAY!

This book is funny, adorable without being mushy, with very good trans & bigender realness and vibes, with lots of queer rep, found family, low angst, great world-building (the diner *dreamy sigh*), lovable characters, AND it’s hooootttttt, very very hot, indeed.
Urgh......it's a balm for your heart, mind, soul, body...
This is simply the perfect trans comfort queer read, the best!

Not on goats though.

Plot: 5/5
POV: 2

Main Characters:
5/5 – Myles, he, introvert, stubborn, writer of queer erotic alien romances, oblivious, clumsy, sarcastic, timid, socially awkward, funny (only with friends)
5/5 – Avery, nickname Aves, she/he, social butterfly, stubborn, acupuncturist, sweet, generous, kind, attention-seeker, funny

Myles & Avery's relationship is beautiful, from roommates to best friends to lovers.
Their journey is smooth, cute 😏 and hot (no 3rd act breakup).
What I liked most about their relationship was the communication bt them. They understood each other like no one else, they were eager to learn everything about one another. And their chemistry was intense since the beginning, making their journey even more static and caliente. πŸ₯΅

"Avery: Except then he leaned down and brushed his lips to mine, and I melted. The kiss was soft and seeking, soothing me in a way I hadn’t known I needed.
...
I wanted to feel his body against mine, and he lowered himself so our chests brushed together, his with a bit of softness at the tits that was hot as fuck against my flat.
He pulled back and pressed a kiss on the tip of my nose, the motion so goddamn cute I died. My heart tumbled, and yeah, bury me here because I didn’t want to leave this space at all."

Side Characters: 5/5

Let's start with the Diner.
The Diner is a wet dream to any queer person.
The calming, relaxing (and fun) vibes during the diner scenes are chef's kiss. It's so inclusive, a true queer safe space.

Among the SCs, we have ChloΓ©, Avery's bestie, who has her own sapphic book (Extraction Play). She's hilarious, and I wanted a little more of her!
Myles's parents are super cool, and Avery's niece is just sooo cute & oblivious kind!
Then there's Graeme, Myles's write friend, he's funny too, and I can’t wait for their book in this series!

"Avery: "Considering you slept with Marisa, I’m pretty sure the bar can go no lower. Chloe said...
I wrinkled my nose. "Yeah, I thought she had a religion kink or something. I didn’t expect her to legit bust out the holy water and try to exorcise me midcoitus. Besides, who carries pocket-sized holy water?"
Greg snorted. "No, she was just trying to convert you."
"By having lesbian sex?" I asked, my brows drawing together. "One plus one plus two plus one equals I’m confused as fuck."
"She was also confused as fuck, if that helps at all, Chloe said."

Humor: High Focus
Angst: Low Focus
Steam Level: 5/5
Romance: High Focus
Cheating?
No

Cons:The only thing I didn't need was the specifics on the food. My favorite kinds of books are the ones that don't describe the food the characters are eating in every scene, or at least only once or twice. It's not just because I'm veganβ€”I respect everyone's choicesβ€”but I also don't think it's necessary to define a character's lifestyle or personality by their food preferences. That's why I don't read chef or food-related books. That being said, this one is relatively tame, but it does have some mentions that, for me, don't add much to the story.
The Ending: 5/5

"Avery: The landlord refused to fix anything, and the standoff between us was getting ridiculous. I’d left a retaliative line of rubber ducks outside his apartment door daily for about a month, and I was pretty sure he was refusing to get my sink repaired out of spite.
But he hadn’t fixed anything in a timely manner beforehand either, so at least I got some amusement over the Eternal Duck Brigadeβ€”trademarked.

I lived for Avery's duck brigade jokes/pranks.
Sooooo funny. The whole book is hilarious!

!! I don't equate fiction stories to real life. It's a matter of personal taste and what you are willing or want to tolerate in the books you read. We all have different opinions and preferences when it comes to the kind of books we enjoy, so it's important to respect and remember that it's just a book!!

Hope this review was helpful.
