I haven’t found that audiobooks worked well for me in the past, but I’ve been too sick to read words on the page. I very much enjoyed this abridged edition narrated by Robert Hardy, all the same. He differentiates the various characters well and keeps a good pace.

In Post Captain it is still early in Aubrey’s naval career. The series is noted for its action, well-drawn historical settings, engaging characters and lighter elements as well, and Post Captain is all of that.
