One of my favourite books of the past few years. I love Arthurian retellings and the layers and nuance in this one are catnip for me. Morgan is a wonderful lead, and one of the highlights of this novel is the depth of relationships that she has with the women around her - her siblings, her mother, her companions, her servants, the nuns, and so on. While this is very much a book about magic and power, it's also very much a book about how women invisibly navigate power and disenfranchisement through their relationships with other women.
