The Quiet Girl by S.F. Kosa

4.0

Mystery and suspense meets Beach Read (this is a loose association but my brain went there) meets Gone Girl meets CSI (quite a random combo but trust me it’s good).

The Quiet Girl follows Alex, husband to Mina, a famous writer. Alex shows up at their second home and finds Mina gone, her wedding rings and an empty wine glass the only indication that she was there. This starts a twisting journey as Alex attempts to find out what happened to his wife. Past family s**t is revealed (y’all know that’s my favorite) that Alex never knew about, and he begins to question how much he really knew his wife.

Ooh the mystery and suspense is REAL in this one!! I can’t say much or else it’ll give the story away, but I can say that Kosa did an incredible job at slowly and methodically revealing various details in the storyline. I was forcing myself to slow down because the anticipation was killing me (pun...maybe intended. Read and find out). Perfect when paired with sour punch straws and a homemade ice cream sandwich after a warm day at the bay. 4.1 ⭐️
