This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen

4.0

This book has solidified for me that I truly like Sarah Dessen. She honestly is just a great author. Her characters are kind of the same from book to book and she uses similar tropes, but whatever it is I never fail to enjoy it. This one wasn't my favorite Sarah Dessen read because the third-act breakup really seemed to drag on. I honestly don't mind a third-act breakup and I feel like that's not a spoiler because they seem to exist in every Sarah Dessen book, but in this one in particular I was over it. I either needed the relationship to go deeper or the breakup to be shorter. I felt like we almost got to the peak of the romance, but never fully made it even at the end of the book. Which for me was quite disappointing as I felt like the romantic relationship was one of her best ones yet. But honestly, besides that, it was a great read. I loved the setting, even though it wasn't at the beach or lake like it is typically and the characters were fun. Especially the main characters. This book put a smile on my face the whole time, which is what I ultimately want in a book like this.
