The world and magic system were very intriguing and I generally liked the plot. I dont think VE Schwab's writing pulls you into the story and gives the sense of urgency it needs. During key moments of the book I didnt feel invested in the outcome. I also expected a lot more from the ending but instead it fell very flat. I am interested enough to continue the series.
