I love books written in verse.
They have a way of portraying emotion that seems more authentic to me.
This one was about a girl who is a Cuban American. Once the Cold War starts and relations between the US and Cuba deteriorate she grapples with what that means for her family.
I enjoyed the characters and it was beautifully written. The author did a great job of capturing the voice of a growing girl.
