Broody Devil by Melissa Ivers
5.0
Rhett comes from a troubled past and now being the bad boy of hockey he needs to get his life in order and make better decisions, that’s where Lucy comes in. Lucy hasn’t had it easy with the tension between her and her father, but Rhett Remington the new guy on the team isn’t helping keep her job easy. He is determined to never follow the rules and do things his own way, but Lucy is determined to set him straight. When a night in Vegas ends up with them having a moment that comes straight from the movie The Hangover, they don’t remember the night before but the rings on their fingers let them know that some bad decisions were made. Lucy knows this will not only be out of control but also end both their careers plans to keep up the rouse so no one gets in trouble. One thing that bothered me was Lucy’s parents just made themselves at home in Rhett’s apartment, not really saying why other than judging, keeping the tension high and the only good thing that came from this was it pushed Lucy and Rhett to get closer. Rhett had a lot of baggage when it came to his family and he felt like he always had to save everyone even at the risk of his career or life. Lucy tries to reach him but sometimes he gets into his own head with the hateful words of his father and refuses to see that he is amazing and deserves to be loved. This book was such a great read and I loved the journey they took us on.
