The Weed That Strings the Hangman's Bag by Alan Bradley

3.0

I didn't enjoy this as much as the first in the series, but Flavia really keeps it afloat. The involvement of puppets AND the death of a small child made it delightfully creepy. It dragged a bit, especially near the beginning, but redeemed itself through the characters. Perhaps I would have enjoyed it more if I hadn't kept putting it down to read other novels in-between!
