Curse of Magic by K.M. Shea
4.0
With her mentor captured and evil spreading with no one interfering to stop it. Angelique begins to do what Evariste trained her to do and help the people who need it. Along the way she is punished by the Conclave for breaking rules for apprentices while she is doing what no other magic user is either able or willing to attempt. How will she handle the pressures of new crises with little guidance, finding her mentor, trying to help withing the constraints of the rules, and harsh criticism and doubt? Angelique's epic journey continues in the Curse of Magic as things slowly start to rise to a simmer.
The Fairy Tale Enchantress Series should be read in order and it does contain spoilers for Timeless Fairy Tale Books 1-3 and 5-6 especially.
This would be an enjoyable read for those who like K .M. Shea's Timeless Fairy Tale series, clean slow burn romance, lots of humor (especially sarcastic/snarky and situational humor), good vs evil conflicts, non-gory fights, creative magic, the story of a maveric fighting for what is right in disapproving culture, fairy tale retellings, self-sacrificial characters, characters growing in their abilities, and lots of adventure.
