This book had a lot of potential but just fell flat.

I did not like Valerie for a majority of the book, up until the very end. She came across very judgmental towards her mom. Valerie had every right to be angry about the divorce, but some of the comments she makes about her mom and Gabrielle are awful.

As for the rest of the characters, the only two people I really liked were Valerie’s Dad (who has such a cool job btw) and Prince Georg. All the other characters were annoying, vain, or simply bad friends.

Like I said before, I feel like this book could have been really good, but the plot was executed well. For the first 50% of the book, Valerie is still in the United States. The book is supposed to be about her time in the small European country. There isn’t much that happens there. And that just made the ending and romance seem rushed, which should have been the focus.
