Please read triggers before looking into this book. I went in blind but I am messed up and desensitised so I knew I’d be fine. I chose a heck of a book to for my first foray into Splatterpunk. I can absolutely see how it’s not for everyone, but it actually really impacted me. Jaw-dropping at times, utterly grotesque and literally gut wrenching. VERY shocking and disturbing, especially as it involves children. But taking it for what it is, I’d say it’s hit the mark very well. I’ve watched a lot of disturbing movies so this is nothing new for me. First time in written form though. Vile, gory and gratuitous. On brand for Splatterpunk.
