Facing the Mountain: A True Story of Japanese American Heroes in World War II by Daniel James Brown
4.0
a spectacular nonfiction history book about Japanese and Japanese Americans during WWII. embarrassing history and highlights important military work and sacrifices by Americans. quick reminder that the Supreme Court ruling that upheld the internment of Japanese Americans was constitutional was only overruled in 2018 (!!!!!!!). the case, Korematsu v. US, was decided in the same grounds as Hirabayashi v. US, with Gordon Hirabayashi who is highlighted in this book.
