Immortal Ever After by Lynsay Sands

3.0

Valerie Moyer is a veterinarian. Her days involve house cats and pet dogs – not crazed rogue vampires. But after getting kidnapped and trapped in a cage, everything is about to change. Valerie escapes but her ordeal with vampires is far from over. She meets Anders – an immortal whose field of work leads him to protect innocents from the blood thirsty rogues. Life mates, a pregnant vampire and a crazy rogue after Valerie – it seems that their courtship is going to be anything but easy.

I enjoy Lynsay Sands’ Argeneau novels. They’re fun, romantic, sexy and guaranteed to deliver a somewhat satisfying happily ever after. The only problem is after 18 novels, things start to get a little repetitive. Valerie’s kidnapping by rogues felt eerily similar to that of Leigh’s (Bite Me if You Can #6) or Dani’s (The Immortal Hunter #11). That said, Sands still manages to keep things interesting with Leigh’s pregnancy, a well behaved German Shepard and many guest appearances of life mates from the previous books in the series.

I liked the romance between Anders and Valerie. They got to know each other (as well as people can in a matter of days) and their chemistry was high. Perhaps Valerie was a little too okay too quickly with being the life mate of an immortal blood drinking man born in 1357. Apart from that – this book is flirty and fun. Not my favourite in the series but still an entertaining and romantic read.
