This book was a hit for me. The pretty cover got me to pick up the book, but the author's personal, conversational writing style and the solid steps to practice mindfulness kept me reading. I loved the practical tips on inserting short periods of mindfulness practice into a mom's (or anyone's, really) busy life. Each mindfulness exercise is prefaced by a short story about how the author tries to incorporate the exercise into her own life. I was pleased that the book also had no hint of the Sanctimommy at all. The author was relatable and included stories of her challenges as well as her successes. I have incorporated a few of the exercises into my life and have been surprised to see that even a few minutes of practice has left me feeling more able to pause before reacting to situations. My children have even been practicing the 3-breath hug when we are experiencing conflict. Highly recommended!
