Nights of the Living Dead: An Anthology by Jonathan Maberry, George A. Romero

Night of the Living Dead is one of my most favorite horror films of all time so I was excited to start this anthology. As with other anthologies, it's a mix of hits and misses. Majority of the stories are good and did make a mark, while some (just a handful) are bordering on okay to forgettable. As a longtime fan of the zombie genre, it was nice to go back to stories where the people are not aware of what zombies or ghouls are and therefore the scare of the outbreak hits differently for them. Some of the stories capture the terror of not knowing very well.
