I loved Tristan and Lucie so much. I’m a sucker for a man who pines from afar, especially when he has been for years. The reveal about her cat absolutely killed me. If I were in this story I would want to be Lucie’s friend. She’s so determined and stubborn (in the best way) and I would happily read an entire series about her work with the Cause. In Bringing Down the Duke I was disappointed that the suffragette plot line wasn’t explored as much, so I was very happy to see how prominent it was in A Rouge of One’s Own. Docking a point for the imperialist undertones ( and the tattoo, which I physically cringed at ), but I was happy to see the author not excuse it as much as I remember in the BDTD.
Graphic: Misogyny and Sexual content
Moderate: Child abuse and Colonisation
Minor: Injury/Injury detail
