The Light of All That Falls by James Islington

and so it ends. Possibly the most complete and satisfying trilogy I have read. All the old magic and deep history of Garth Nix's The Old Kingdom, the world building of Raymond Feist's Riftwar Saga, enough time travel to satisfy fans of Mark Hodder's "Burton and Swinburne" series, magic systems to rival Brandon Sanderson's plus more than enough brutal fight scenes to satisfy fans of Joe Abercrombie. Ulitamtely though this is a tale of deep and lasting friendships. Highly recommended!
