The Midnight Lie by Marie Rutkoski
4.0
Intriguing fantasy book about an orphan girl who doesn’t know that she is special. She lives with the woman who adopted her Named Raven. Nirrim just wants to please Raven. She doesn’t know that Raven is an abusive user. They live behind a wall and have their personal rights stripped. They can only wear brown or beige. They can only eat healthy food. No sugar,no treats. They can be arrested for any reason and if they are they must pay a tithe. The tithe can be their hair, their blood,an eye. Nirrim gets arrested while running an errand for Raven.
While there she meets a stranger who
Changes her life. They will have adventure after adventure while learning the truth about the people that live behind the wall.
I really enjoy this book the majority is story building but it’s done in a fascinating way that keeps you hooked and then the end the story unfolds.
