Soldier of Dorsa by Eliza Andrews

adventurous emotional tense medium-paced

4.5

This series has really grabbed hold of me. To the point where, despite the books being on Kindle Unlimited, I've ended up buying each one! That really comes down to the triology's two main characters: Tasia (who we've seen move from princess to empress, with a bumpier-than-expected route between the two) and Joslyn (in various roles important to Tasia, whether they are together or separated by much). I am ever-so-slightly annoyed at where book two ends, though it is a defensible choice. (I am just annoyed because I am more interested in the resolution of the series' arc than the resolution of the arc of this book. But that is a common gripe from me about trilogies and series, and, unlike most times I complain about it, Andrews has done well to give us a fitting resolution to end this second book, even if it's not the resolution I'm waiting for!)

This was one of the rare books where I immediately purchased the next book when I finished. (Though, as I usually do, I will read different books before I return to this world and the series' third book, so don't expect to see me review that book in the next couple of weeks!)
