Stealing Rose by Monica Murphy

**4.5 Stars**

Rose Fowler, the baby girl of the family, who has constantly been belittled and ignored by her daddy has finally decided to start living. She wants to be seen, to be wanted, to do something she would never dream of doing. And she gets what she asked for and it’s a wild, bumpy ride. But it’s more than just being a little reckless, it’s her taking a stand. Saying that she matters, that what she want is important, and that no one can take away her power. It’s a woman’s journey to reclaim herself once and for all.

Rose isn’t one to usually speak her mind. She doesn’t feel appreciated at work, and family drama is creeping back in with Pilar (if you didn’t read book one, know that Pilar is someone we hate). When she travels to London for Cannes and received a family heirloom, something about it sort of sparks her back to life. It ignites her sexuality and her being brave enough to ask for what she wants. Rose goes through quite a few transformations in this book with finding her sexuality, and herself…but through it all she’s still highly relatable. Who hasn’t had siblings outshine them, or parents who keep telling you you’re a disappointment, or other people getting what’s rightfully yours? While she takes a chance on Caden, she also sparks his change as well.

“Me? I’m the Fowler sister everyone believes is normal, with a bit of fighter streak in me.”

Caden grew up with privilege. Until one day it wasn’t there anymore. To take care of his only parent, he did what it took. As any son would do for his mother, he did everything to provide for her even if it made him suffer. He comes across Rose, on purpose, and he only has one motive in mind. But her beauty, her raw power, her free spirit instantly pulls at him. It could be seen that she gets caught in his web, but I think it’s him that gets caught in hers. The passion they ignite within each other is something neither of them has ever felt before, and it wars within them. They struggle separately, and together. Inside and out. Caden was this mysterious man who you fall for because he is vulnerable, but incredibly caring deep down.

“Being with Rose is the closest I’ve felt to myself since I don’t know when. I want to explore this. Explore what we share, what she makes me feel, what we are when we’re together.”

Rose stole Caden, right out from under him. It was beautiful to read, to experience, and to feel. Especially during the climax. Rose didn’t know exactly what she was running from, but she ran right into Caden. It was the best thing for both of them. A clashing of two completely different people who have both suffered similar circumstances, who essentially are what each other needs. I thought it was beautiful all around, and from what little we see Lily, the only sister we haven’t read about yet, I am now more than ever curious to get into her story as well.
