The Light of All That Falls, I feel like fantasy books have a tendency to not really get me real engaged until the very end, and this book is most definitely a culprit of that trend. In all fairness, this series wears its classical influences on its sleeves on top of Mistborn, which the author did say was his main inspiration for wanting to write this series right here, and it shows. I feel like a decent amount of what can be praised about the book can also, in some ways, be used to showcase its flaws. One main example of that is, like I said, Mistborn, which is a series that has a wonderful magic system. Licanius, you can tell tried its best to create something that felt like a little brother attempting to make something similar to his older brother, the same can be applied to this when it comes to other aspects of this and to The Wheel of Time as well, both series the author loves and you can tell he pulled a lot of his influences from.

I heard from many that the third book in this trilogy is the reason you want to read the entire trilogy because it's just that good. So good it's worth two books to get to? In my opinion, I disagree with this notion. Although I do think the third book is the best of the three, I do not think it is night and day in comparison to the first two books, for majority of my reading time through this book, I had the 2nd book over it until the final quarter and even then it wasn't until the epilogue of this book to finally made me yield into believe this one is the best one. Even though it did take me the longest to get through, the majority of the middle portion was not too engaging and did get very dense at times.

The Big Epilogue Chapter
It's sort of unanimously agreed upon that the epilogue is the best chapter in the book if not the series, and i do agree it was great, but I do think it's because it was the very end and every single secret and unanswered question left needed to be answered here and now, no more stalling, so since that's the case a lot of big reveals occurred and why it's the longest. I don't want to take anything away from it because it was handled well, but I did feel like that needed to be thrown out there. It was great and saved the book for me, but it does kinda suck it took the epilogue to do that.

Verdict
I do think this series is a good trilogy, but I do feel a decent amount of the books did a lot of things I did not care too much for. Additionally, his writing style over time, even though it did get progressively better, still wasn't anything too impressive, but he did have a handful and standout lines. I think he probably used the word "though" at the end of way too many sentences that it stood out to me too much.
Most of the action scenes weren't written in a way that was that engaging to me (and maybe because I've been spoiled by how Brando writes his), and I feel his strongest suite is when he's writing about how a character feels when they are going through a painful experience.
Overall, like I said, I do not think it's bad. Disappointing? Probably, but by the very end, I do think,
