I've enjoyed Katy Rose Pool's books before, but this one is by far my favorite. It was so darkly romantic and there were so many plot twists and reveals. In some ways it reminds of the Cruel Prince series by Holly Black and I think that people who loved that series will also like this one.

Marlow Briggs is a very sympathetic heroine, but I just wanted to shake her sometimes at some of her decisions. I can understand what drives her, and why she made those decisions, but still. After that ending, I immediately preordered the next book.

The audiobook was excellent. The narrator brought every character to life and with them the darkly glittering world Marlow gets dragged into.

It was dark and full of politics and betrayals and scheming and also had a strong love story full of misunderstandings. I absolutely loved every second of it and can't wait for the next one.
