The Deep & Dark Blue by Niki Smith

4.0

There is a lot bundled into this book. There is world building that is not totally explained, that we are expected to pick up on our own. Keep up, don’t you know. Nothing wrong with that. That is the way life is, without explanations this time.

The story follows twins who must escape because of a coup d’etat lead by their cousin, when she kills their grandfather, and then makes it look as though their older brother pulled it off.

The twins hide with the Communion of Blue, the priestess guild of weavers. There is magic in being able to weave the color blue out of the air.

Good message about being who you are, and feeling at home, or not.
