Beautiful Darkness by Margaret Stohl, Kami Garcia

2.0

I loved the first book in this series a lot, and I was excited to see how the story continued. However, this installment was a bit of a letdown. I struggled through the first third of the book, as Ethan got a little too whiny and needy for my tastes. Things did eventually pick up, but even the "action" scenes were few and far between. There was a lot of walking to and from places, then not much happened once the characters arrived at the destination. Even finding out more information about some of the characters (like Ethan, his mom, and Macon) wasn't too exciting. It just fell sort of flat for me. After such a great introduction to the series, this book was a disappointment. Hopefully the third book will be better. I would say I don't see how it could get worse, but you never know.
