The Moonstone by Wilkie Collins

A solid Victorian lit mystery - and this coming from someone who doesn't typically go in for either. Funny! The characters are great, and I really enjoyed the POV/structure of it all being diaries, letters, etc.

I recommend this despite the racist undercurrents. It certainly could have been worse but obviously that doesn't excuse it. It's one of those that thinks it isn't but had so much internalized that it still is... Y'know?
