Girl Like a Bomb by Autumn Christian

This was how religions started, with a cataclysmic bang loud enough to make you believe in God. -42

2.5! This book has an incredibly creative premise that I have not seen elsewhere. It probably deserves a rating higher than what I gave it; however, the editing and presentation of the ebook made for a torturous reading experience. The novel was littered with grammatical and formatting issues that distracted and took me out of the story. There were multiple on almost every single page. I'm not sure if this is a self-published work, but the author needs a better beta reader/editor.

Beyond this, the story was enjoyable. Beverly was a fairly sympathetic character and the novel ended on a very satisfactory note. I read this book as an ebook from Kindle Unlimited.

People say that everything changes once you have a child. What they don't say is that it's like you pushed out a piece of your soul, and now instead of staying safe inside you, it's walking around in a new and tender skin. -191
