Tessa’s world used to be filled with sunlight and poetry. When a drunk driver hit their car, her grandmother came out bruised, but Tessa’s world had gone dark. With doctors telling her she might get her sight back after 100 days and her nightmares about the accident playing on repeat, she feels hopeless.

Her grandparents, wanting to help, placed an ad in the local newspaper for a typist. She feels happier when she writes, but she tells them she’s not ready. What she doesn’t know is that Weston Ludovico had already seen the ad. When he comes knocking at their door, her grandmother gives him a chance.

Tessa is not comfortable having a boy touch her laptop or tell her how to feel. Weston, as an amputee, knows how much it sucks to feel helpless. He knows more than anyone what Tessa is going through. With his optimism and stubbornness, who better to help Tessa see the bright side than him?

This is the definition of a grumpy/sunshine romance book. It’s a contemporary story that will give you hope and make you cry. It’s a story about a boy who didn’t let the world keep him down. A story about a girl who had to get used to her new normal and fight to get back on her feet. Young adults who are feeling lost, this book has the power to motivate you! Also, anyone who needs motivation. So everyone. Yeah, everyone should read this book! There are enemies to lovers, grumpy/sunshine, and stubborn characters that would do anything to prove people wrong. I admire that and so much more.

The writing is captivating. It was so easy to see the difference in both POVs; there are two: Tessa’s and Weston’s. Their voices are unique and the writing illustrated that. This is one of my favourite books now. It might be a small book, one you could finish in one sitting, but its impact is ten times greater, and it lasts. And the audiobook… wow. This book is hooking and powerful. Exactly what I love.

There were a lot of scenes in this book that’ll always be stuck in my mind, but the one where Henry and Weston have a bonding moment on the stairs won’t stop repeating itself in my mind, and it made me tear up.

Reading the book impact my mood! When the characters are having a hard time, I feel down, and when they are happy I can’t help but feel it too. This book is powerful and brilliantly written. I’m definitely going to reread this book many times and I’ll never get bored doing it.

Abbie made me believe I could do anything, too. I stumbled upon her channel on YouTube in my moments of boredom and was trying to find a video that would motivate me to write. Hers didn’t bore me; it made me search for my notebook and write everything down. So, Abbie, thank you for making me believe. Thank you for writing such a heartwarming book.
