Another dark, tragic, suspenseful mystery by Jackson. I liked the friendship that the author built between Claudia and Monday. It felt complex, beautiful and authentic and served as a good grounding point for the rest of the narrative. I thought all the side characters were interesting and well thought out. My only con was the confusing timeline. I understand why in the end the author made the choice to include before, after and before the before but I found it difficult to keep all the characters’ storylines in chronological order. So much so, that the big plot twist at the end didn’t seem that punchy. This book explores grief, family, friendship as well as heavier topics such as domestic abuse and bullying. Overall would recommend if you like mystery/ thrillers but def check the content warnings.
