I was actually rather surprised by this story! I liked that it acted as a bridge between two different series that the author had written. I loved that it was also a second chance-esque romance for the hero and heroine of the story. I connected more with Mandy than I did with Cal, but I think that was due to his reticent nature. It was very well written for a short story, and my biggest complaint with it was that I wanted more time with these characters! I loved seeing how the characters from both series that this bridged had evolved, though the Almost Royal characters had been less developed, in an effort, I believe, to build anticipation for their upcoming stories. All things considered, this felt like a complete story and a very tender and sweet one! Another hit for the author for me!
